Finding a duvet/set for toddler bed

Redruby2020 · 17/03/2021 11:10

Just recently bought a toddler bed that is 80 x 160 cm's, did want to get the 180cm one but was out of stock then thought oh well it's not much difference, but isn't far off of a single bed then, which is easier to buy linen for.

So I've managed to find sheets on eBay, but still trying to find a duvet and duvet set! My DS wants Peppa Pig 🙄😁 hard to find in the size of bed we have! And hard to find in general, I thought as they sell the beds you will find the bedding to go with, but not so much the case.

Sure there will be some of you who moved over to these beds and wondering what you did. I don't expect it to be the same length, but some duvet covers are saying 130cm for the width, that will be quite wide, considering there is a guard on the bed too, which is removable but I need to keep on at the moment.

Either use a cotbed duvet or a single duvet

dementedpixie · 17/03/2021 11:39

You get Peppa pig toddler bedding sets for the cotbed duvet

Nannyamc · 17/03/2021 11:49

Try ikea lovely duvets and pillows

dementedpixie · 17/03/2021 11:50

Does ikea not do weird sizes

Redruby2020 · 17/03/2021 11:52

@dementedpixie

You get Peppa pig toddler bedding sets for the cotbed duvet
Where from though? I've looked but I guess because I was looking at the ones I did find and thinking they were too big or others too small.

Argos, asda, etc. I found them online

dementedpixie · 17/03/2021 11:54

www.argos.co.uk/product/4096869
This set includes the duvet and pillow

dementedpixie · 17/03/2021 11:58

Next also does a toddler peppa pig set

FreeButtonBee · 17/03/2021 11:58

just get a single sized one and turn it side ways. Then you can tuck it in under the mattress both sides and it keeps them cosy

Lots of places do Toddler bedding, I’ve got some from Argos and Happy Linen Company.

I just came on to say this! Best tip I ever got from MN. The sideways single duvet stays on so much better as well.

Thanks I have looked on Asda site and Thankyou I will look at the link. Not sure as yet if it is the same one, but I saw one on there and I'm sure the length was 150cm so I thought it would be too short. Gosh much easier with an adult bed, you just look for a single or double duvet and choose your cover. The sizing does vary for kids beds.

But you don't need it covering the whole bed as their head will be uncovered

Thanks, I had seen this one it's nice but pink, I want for a boy 😁

It only needs to come up as far as the pillow area

Absy · 17/03/2021 15:45

I just got a single sized duvet and pillow, as presumably they’re not going to be in the toddler bed for years and years.

dementedpixie · 17/03/2021 15:46

They have a boy version too I think

Thankyou 🤦‍♀️🤣 I don't know where my head was when I typed the post this morning 🤣 Yes of course!

Dont know about characters, buy we got cotbed stuff from Dunelm.
Dont worry if it's a bit short - toddler toes dont go to the bottom of the bed!!

dementedpixie · 17/03/2021 15:48

Or maybe its a George duvet set I saw

Redruby2020 · 17/03/2021 15:48

Well the bed I got despite not as wide as a single, though I read a single could be 90cm's, this bed is 80. The length being 160, if I had got the 180cm it was not far off the big single adults bed my mum has. It's just what it is made from and what weight it can take, that would depend on the years of use you can get out of it.

I'm not sure I will look again, I have only seen the bed in a bag in this colour.
