Transitioning from cot to toddler bed

Hi all!

We made the decision to put our almost 2 year old into her toddler bed. First 3 nights were amazing, she was out and straight back in once or twice and went to sleep within 30 minutes. We thought we were superhero’s....

The last 3 nights she has been out of the bed the second we leave the room. Last night was 8 trips up and down stairs and tonight I’m on my 12th trip with no end in sight. She’s clearly so tired but is up with a different hat or pair of shoes on every time. Let’s not even mention naps for the last two days....

Have we done it too soon? Do we persevere? Would it be bad to put the bars back on? Help 😩

Was your daughter climbing out of her cot? My son is 2.5 and still in his cot with sides up my plan is to wait for as long as possible. When he starts to climb out then I'll put him into his 'big boy bed' which is all set up for him.

DS is 2yr 5 months and watching with interest. He's tall, so much so that he's close to getting too tall for the cot. Like SIllybilly, we're trying to keep him in the cot as long as possible! DS no longer naps during thd day sadly!

My daughter is three and a half and still in a cot with the bars on. She climbed out once about a year ago and never again. I think I'll leave the bars on until she outgrows it!
