Cots and beds

This topic is for discussing cots and beds. We've spent weeks researching and testing newborn beds in real homes with real families.

Take 1 side off the cotbed?

I would like to try taking 1 side of railings off from my 20month old DS's cot bed. Is this ok? Or do I need to take both sides off? I can't find the instructions for the cotbed. I'm guessing it will still be sturdy and safe. I plan to use a bed guard in replace of the railing. Has anyone else had experience with this?

I took one side off the cotbed when transitioning from cot to bed, no problems at all

Thanks. I've done it and it seems ok.
