Cots and beds

This topic is for discussing cots and beds. We've spent weeks researching and testing newborn beds in real homes with real families.

Which single bed if I need to elevate the head?

Could anyone recommend a white wooden single bed for my dd (3yrs)?

I need to elevate the head end by about 20cm (with books), so I need a high-ish foot end to stop dd slipping out.
All the adult beds I've seen have high headboards and I'm worried the headboard will tower over her once I've raised it 20cm, and she'll struggle to climb in!!

at what age do kids grow out of children's single beds? Eg the ones which sit slightly lower off the ground like Children's Furniture Company beds? Are they a bit babyish?

Why do you need to elevate one end? Could you put something under the mattress instead or use pillows?

My dd has reflux and it seems to help. We've done it since she was a few months old, but I'm not sure how long we'll be doing it for. She's seeing a paediatrician in January.

We used to use wedge pillows but now she's longer she just curls up at the bottom and not on the pillow at all
