double beds and children

hi mums i have a 4 year old dd and a 2 year old dd currently they have 2 single beds but they rarely sleep in them as the prefer to sleep together (they dont like sleeping alone) anyway they share a bedroom but the room is not massive with wardrobes and storage and 2 single beds its tight space wise so back to topic i was considoring purchasing a double bed for them to sleep together has anyone done this how did it work out? thanks everyone

hi Joules yeah i understand that and would be willing to change the bed again if need be they are to young for bunk beds the age is from 6 years :(

well for now they are too young,but you can get a drawer type bed that pulls out

No. Mine share a room and sleep together 99% of the time. They have bunk beds but are often on the top bunk together.

There's the odd day when they decide they despise each other, those are the days we are thankful for bunk beds.

Dd2's first bed was bottom bunk. I'd think a bunk bed will be fine, just get one with high sides. We converted ours as the sides on top bunk were quite low, so my carpenter dad added some new higher ones.

I think you'd be better sticking with 2 singles, and letting them share a single.
If I can share a single with a 4 yr old, I'm sure a 2 yr old can!

Oh yes truckle bed - we got one from Bowen - think it'd be useful for sleepovers later on. I think some you can convert later into bunk beds.

Shove the single beds together?

please don't get bunk beds for a 2 year old and 4 year old.. what about 2 small.single beds with storage draws?

I had a friend at high school who shared a double bed with her sister when they were 16 & 18. They weren't allowed boyfriends to stay so was never an issue for them! That was because they didn't have space for 2 beds and ceilings were too low for bunk beds.
