Hi all

How on earth do you go about choosing? I really like the Stokke Sleepi but the huge pricetag is a concern. Are they really good? Suggestions welcome!

I also have found a whinnie the pooh rocking cradle which I was thinking would be good for downstairs but would it need to be on wheels?

I am bored at work so this is what is occupying my mind lol.

Many thanks

GD

You buy the cheapest one of decent quality, one Moses basket and stand with at least three sets of sheets and blankets, one cot or cot bed with three sets of sheets and blankets. Second hand is fine for cots if you replace the mattress. Both the basket and the cot need a water proof sheet hover the mattress. Wilkinson's and Tesco are great for sheets and blanets. eBay and NCT sales are good for cots. Ikea sell perfectly acceptable cots. If you live anywhere near Teesside, there's a white metal Moses basket stand here you can have. Rocking cradles, that way lies perdition! You rock them to sleep, then they only sleep when rocked. Never seen a cot or basket on wheels. The baskets are so light they are easy to move.
Next question, please!

I picked up a swinging crib on Ebay for £5. It's in wonderful condition, just need to replace the mattress. Can totally see what DrSeuss means about rocking to sleep, though, so it might not be for everyone. Point is definitely try second hand if the price is an issue, a good clean and a new mattress and it'll be absolutely fine!

Then put the cash into something else that might be more use such as the Uni fund or some useful classes, not so much baby yoga as toddlers' French or Tumble Tots. Or a case of wine for Mummy!
