This topic is for discussing cots and beds. We've spent weeks researching and testing newborn beds in real homes with real families.

Debate in our house ongoing for a year.

Does a bling bunk bed with slide, sail, climbing rope, ships wheel make for overexcited children who don't find peace & calm in a bedroom for sleeping but get the message that a bedroom is for playing?
Or will they get over the initial excitement of it?

Background: we are moving in a few weeks to a rural Sussex setting from hectic Shoreditch in central Ldn.

My theory is that a bed/play space like that will come into its own on cold wet day when the kids can't run around in the fields outside & can use it as a springboard for all sorts of interesting imaginative play.

DP thinks you don't want to give excitable kids any more reasons not to go to bed.

One more thing- its a big fancy object. Will we be setting the bar too high for presents & will the kids then start to expect big fancy things?? We are generally quite modest people!!
