Does anyone have any thoughts on this cot as a bedside cot / co-sleeper? I'm not sure if the dropside goes down far enough for this?

Unless a cot is designed to be a bedside cot / co-sleeper I don't think it will work as one. I agree with you the drop side does not look like it will go down far enough. I can't imagine any drop side design that has a simple up-and-down movement that would go low enough to be a co-sleeper, you have to have a mechanism that either removes the 4th side entirely or slots it underneath or up above the cot. I'd be cautious of trying to addapt a non-co-sleeper cot by removing the 4th side because you couldn't be sure of its safety and structural integrity if it's being used in a way it wasn't designed for. I have a Mothercare bedside cot which has been brilliant, I got it on ebay for £30, best puchase ever.
