Does anyone have a short cabin or bunkbed?

Dd2's room is tiny, she's currently in a cotbed but wants a proper big girl bed. The only place it can go in her room means it has to be 195cm long or less. It would be useful for it to be a cabin bed or bunkbeds. I know it's do-able as I've Internet researched extensively but wondered if anyone has any recommendations?

I got one much as you describe from eBay when my son was just turned 2 & it's been really great.

My DS's room is more like an alcove really & having his bed raised up (I think it's referred to as a 'midi-sleeper') has made all the difference: he has his toys neatly stacked in transparent plastic crates & has a reading spot/den with cushions & a spotlight underneath. I also sourced some little wooden 'pegs' which I drilled holes for & glued into one end of the frame to hang various items on to keep them in order.

Highly recommend! I got the frame only from eBay then sourced a new mattress after I'd won it so the dimensions were just right. Depending upon where you live you could search Gumtree, eBay, local paper etc. as they seem to be quite popular.

I mean mattresses are that long. Bed is a bit longer but much less than 195cm

Thanks for replies. Those bunks look great, I'm a bit torn whether to go for a midsleeper or bunks as we have a lot of friends to stay.

We had the argos shortie one and it was fine, the thuka one we have now is nicer - has flat rungs on a slanted ladder which is less painful on the feet! There is also a place on the south coast that does made to measure...

Thanks Randommess, after yet more research I think we're going to go for the Thuka, just need to find who stocks it and can get it to us quickly (dd2's birthday)

My dd has a midi sleeper.
I thought they were not recommended for children under six.
