Moses basket with second hand mattress, is this safe?

I have a second hand moses basket with a second hand mattress. The mattress has the relevant safety certs and looks new. It has a waterproof covering. Is it safe?

I would get a new one. Only a tenner from mothercare or something.

I bought a moses basket mattress from argos very recently for £7.99. Recommendation is that each child to use a cot/basket should have a new mattress.

No. They are around a tenner as other posters have said.

I think I will get a new one, especially as so cheap. Didnt realise you could get them at less than a tenner. Thanks
