Cots and beds

This topic is for discussing cots and beds. We've spent weeks researching and testing newborn beds in real homes with real families.

Recommendations for toddler bed please

We need to buy our 2 yr old a bed. I am totally clueless about what to buy.
My feeling is a single bed will be too big - especially as we won't be using it longer term: once his baby sibling is old enough to go into a bed we plan to use bunk beds.

Any recommendations for toddler beds very gratefully received

Many thanks

As toddler beds are quite short lived we went to ikea, they have quite a few to chose from and you can select mattresses from there too.

we bought bunk beds from aspace straight away.

they can be used singly, and the topn bunk had rails on both sides (with a getting in/ out bit) so it was a half way stage from a cot to a bed. you can take the sides off as and when the lo is ready.

detachable ladder etc, so even when you go for the bunks, you can remove the ladder to stop the smallest sibling from heading skyward.

we used it as a single bed with rails for a year or two before taking them off. and still use them as bunks/ singles as required.

i would never buy bunk beds that are just bunk beds. not flexible enough for our moving house/ growing family.

My kids loved having toddler beds - they were low (so close to floor when they fell out) and quite cosy. We bought ours from Jo Jo Mama Bebe. Expensive but nice. A good thing to buy secondhand imo.
