Second Hand Blankets and Sheets

Does anyone please know whether it's safe to use second hand blankets and sheets? I'm assuming as you can wash them (unlike a mattress), it is, but I can't find any information about this on the internet. Any help appreciated!

Of course it is! Hmm Otherwise hospitals would have to close down.
60C wash should get rid of most things, along with a good air on a washing line.

It's also safe to use some second hand mattresses depending on the age, condition and quality - newish ones can be wiped with washing up liquid and water and left in the sunshine for a day to air and kill dustmite, etc. People don't buy new mattresses for each baby in the family.

Common sense required, as in all things.

Well I would have thought so, isn't it what they use when in hospital? What exactly are you worried about? If they are cotton you can wash them at a very hot temperature and then iron them at a very hot temp.
