This topic is for discussing cots and beds. We've spent weeks researching and testing newborn beds in real homes with real families.

Suggestions for a 3 sided cot please?

We currently cosleep but I want to try and get my 7 week old in a better sleeping position so thought a 3 sided cot would be a good idea. Can anybody recommend a good one please?

Also, when we cosleep my DS sleeps on DH and not on the matress. I know this isn't ideal but it's the only way he'll slepp on a night time.

Hoping the three sided cot will allow him to still cosleep but will be safer.
Thanks

Can you take the side off a dropside cot ?

We took the side of a normal cot and bungee roped the cot frame to the bed frame. Pushed the cot mattress towards the main mattresses so they fitted snugly together with no gap. We filled the gap on the far side between the cot mattress and the cot side with a piece of high density foam, we got cut to fit. But I have heard of people using rolled up towels instead.

Bobs your uncle !

thank you - will look into doing that with the cot we already have (coastline from m+p). Smile

You might need to drill a couple of extra holes in the frame to bring the cot mattress up to the bed height.

We used the rolled up towels idea to fill the gap, and tucked everything in with a large flat sheet

How about the Bednest? Its won lots of awards and was used by Jools Oliver for baby Buddy.

Adjustable height etc and looks lovely.

Thanks for the advice. I bought a 3 sided cot from Ikea and bungeed it to the side of the ned and stuffed the back gap with a towel with the sheet over the top and then put DS into a gro bag. So far so good Wink
