DS (14 weeks)has just made the change from moses basket to cot, he's in a sleeping bag and it all went fine for a few nights Grin. but the last 2 nights he has fidgetted (sp?) around so that he has his head jammed up against the side bars, sort of diagonally in his cot. he's woken up 3 times these last 2 nights, whereas before he only woke up once. i think having bars on his head is waking him up, i've fed him anyway but he falls asleep on me before he gets very much, so i'm not convinced it was just hunger that woke him. any suggestions? are cot bumpers safe for babies?

I have the same problem with my 9 month old... She went up to the top corner and kept banging her head, so I put a cot bumper in. Since then she's wiggled down and keeps getting her legs out the sides.. Now I put thin almost cushions round the edges, but I wouldn't suggest that, as I have a breathing monitor.
I'd say cot bumpers are absolutely fine, as long as you can tie them at the top and bottom then theres nothing to worry about :)

Try one of these www.safedreams.co.uk, I can't recommend them enough. My LO hated his cot at first and these just make it a lot cosier as well as covering the bars. Normal cot bumpers aren't recommended.
