What Bedguard?

We are in the process of buying a 2'6 bed for DS in preparation of moving him from his cot in a month or so.

(a small single because we are space constrained)

What is a good bed-guard to get?

I was recommended by a friend to get an extending one, but I don't see them sold anywhere. Wood is apparently better than metal.

We had to get a wooden one as the fold down metal/mesh ones wouldn't fit with his bed frame (the mattress sits in the frame). I don't think it really matter tbh. Just get one that you like.

has anyone tried the foam ones?

am wondering whether the fitted sheets really fit over the top of them?
