What tog quilt do I need for summer and winter?

My babe is currently in a go-bag in her cot-bed but I want to move her to a pillow and quilt (18 months). I find the tog ratings really confusing and not like those of an 'adult' quilt. What tog do I need for summer and what for winter? I thought I'd just get one from John Lewis.

My cot duvet was from Ikea. I think it is a 2.5 tog. But not sure. I wouldn't get one that's overly thick because you can always layer up with clothes. And you can use a sheet in the summer when its really hot.
