Toddler Bed

My daughter is 2 and seems ready to come out of the cot and sleep in a "big girls bed". Do I buy a toddler bed (which effectively takes cotbed sized linen) or go straight for the single bed.

The toddler beds look very cute (I like the nantucket at the white company)and are much lower to the ground. I also like the fact that the have integrated side rails (just at the top) that you can take off later.

But, am I just wasting money and should I just go for the single bed? By the way am expecting my second so am guessing at 5 ish she will be ableto go up to the single bed and baby no. 2 will get the toddler bed.
Hope not too confusing but appreciate the advice.

thanks in advance.

I'd go for the toddler bed as they are a good size for a 2 year old and not too high off the ground.
my ds loves his bed.

We bought an extendable one from Ikea - a little white metal framed one. it is as wide as a normal single but is toddler length and can be extended as they grow.
