This topic is for discussing cots and beds. We've spent weeks researching and testing newborn beds in real homes with real families.

I really need dotty bed stuff

Have decided that polka dots are the way to go for DD and my bedrooms - anyone know where I can get reasonably priced polka dot bed linen - spent ages Googling last night but could only find some very expensive Cath Kidston stuff and there was some others as well but all VERY expensiv. I don't mean multicoloured spots, but pastelly or purple or greenish background with white dots to mix up, maybe with some ginghamy or stripy bits as well. Having said that, I have just got a lovely pink and white dotty fleecy blanket in Asda for £4 - it's a start.

Next sale my friend!

Was in there today looking for plain flat sheets - maybe you know where I can get them? They have quite a few dotty styles.

Mothership, I always get my plain stuff from Asda or Tesco - very reasonable. For anyone that might notice such things, in The Tooth Fairy the little girl in the film has exactly the stuff I'm looking for on her bed, which is what started my quest! Even tried Googling "The tooth fairy bed linen"! to no avail.

Can you find some fabric on eBay and knock something up? loads of dotty stuff at the mo!

TotorosOcarina · 17/07/2010 19:59

pink dotty here

Thanks Totors - but I NEED white spots on coloured background (fussy old fart that I am) LOL at the thought of knocking something up myself - struggled trying to make a cloak from a old sheet for DD dressing up - ended up doing huge tacking stitches everywhere just to sew some velcro at the neck!

Thanks all - looks like I will be busy on the laptop again tonight checking all this out. Never bought from ebay before - is stuff from the States likely to turn up OK?
