My fixed rate comes to an end mid October so I am looking to fix again before the October price rise of course.

OMG, what a difference in prices this time. My DD is going to increase at least £30 per month, possibly more. Also, what is this obsession with wanting everyone to switch to economy 7 type usage? For safety reasons we only use our appliances during the day so currently have a flat rate 24/7 but everything I am looking at is cheaper during the night and very expensive during the day. (We do have an economy 7 type meter but have not used EC 7 for years.)

Has anyone come across a half decent flat rate anywhere recently? We are currently with Octopus and I have emailed to ask about another flat single rate but no response so far. At the moment we pay 20.7p for electricity and just over 5p for gas both per KW of course and same rate 24/7.

Many thanks for this.

Don't worry as I am well used to using comparison sites and am a member of the MSE cheap energy club. It's just everything was so much more expensive than what we are currently paying and I just wanted to ensure I wasn't missing anything.

I finally found one with Eon next which should work for us as it is 3 rates i.e. peak, off peak and super peak. Thankfully the latter two should work well for us so have switched this morning but thank you for the referral code. Just a shame the new Fuse rates weren't suitable for us.
