How much are you paying for electricity and with which supplier?

Please can you tell me how much you are paying for your electricity, and who with? I'm trying to see if I am paying too much.

I'm with Octopus, on their Octopus Go tariff. 31p per KWh, and 9p off peak.

octopus. The rate varies around the country so you can’t compare, especially the standing charge. Ours is the highest, grrr

Do a search on a comparison website and it will tell you of you are paying too much.

You don't need to ask what people are paying there are whole websites devoted to comparing all the available tariffs

Literally open one up and everything is there, why would it matter what I pay?

You won't get a useful answer here OP, there are too many variables. Look at a comparison site.

I'm with Home Energy. I'm in Scotland.
Electricity is 19.73p/kwh amd 64.17p standing charge. It will rise in august to 21.58p/kwh with same standing charge

Gas is 5.99p/kwh with 29.24 standing charge rising to 6.56p/kwh (same standing charge)

£10.00 a week at the moment. (£520 a year/£43 a month.)

Ramps up to about £12.00 a week in the winter. (£624 a year/£52 a month.)

Small-ish 3 bed detached house around 55 years old.

For a time of use tariff to work you need to use enough cheap rate electricity to make it worth paying a higher rate for daytime electricity ie because you have an electric car or storage heaters.

Then you need to look at whether the Octopus tariff is comparable with similar tariffs from other providers and if there are other benefits eg I don't know the details but I've heard that you can pay for electricity bought on the road using your Octopus account at a special rate.

That's what you need to look at not comparing with other people in different circumstances especially when they quote weekly costs for unspecified amounts of electricity.

If you put your details into a comparison site it will tell you whether the Octopus price is cheapest. Hopefully you can also get it to work out if you're making best use of the Go tariff.

I’m on an EDF dynamic tariff so three prices points a day and only find out the next days prices at noon

It is expensive between 4 and 7pm, today is 31p/KWh but the rest of the time it’s less. Many days I’m paying a lot less and some days it’s free if there’s a lot of surplus in the grid Last Sunday it was free feom
9am -4pm It’s working out cheaper for me than the heat pump tariff with 6 hours of cheaper electricity per day that I was on before It is an all electric house

19.14p per unit for electricity and 5.51p for gas. I fixed just before prices went up.

Check out Fuse energy. I am paying so much less than I was with Eon next. Only difference being you pay monthly for what you use by DD. It's not a fixed payment every month which obviously means you'll pay much less in the summer and more in the winter. I just put the extra away in the summer to cover the winter months.

I am with EDF. Our day rate is 23 and off peak (midnight to 5am) is 7p.

We’ve got three electric cars so we have to charge one during the day rate usually. I set my washing machine and dishwasher overnight which isn’t convenient as we have to unload both before work.

All I can say is Im totally jealous of your cheap electricity

Im in NI , we dont have a lot of choice , and because our power is delivered overhead, even though most of our energy is renewable , we pay dear

I get up at 5 am to get the washing, drying, dishwasher and hot water on , cheap rate - 17p. something - day rate - 35p something and near on 13p a day standing charge

So whilst our usage isnt high, it costs a lot

Add to that the volatile heating oil prices

These are our biggest bills
