So I have £263 left on my budgeting loan advance. If I paid this off could I then apply for another one for the £810 again? I need a mobility scooter as due an operation and as a single parent it will give me the all I lite to do the school runs etc.

Do you want your neighbours to know you are on a benefit? I will not apply for a mobility scooter for this reason.

Can you contact social services and ask them for help?

Is it a permanent/ long term disability as you may be able to get PIP and motability ?

Plenty of people purchase or hire a mobility scooter because they're disabled. It doesn't mean they're definitely on benefits. And why would your neighbours care either way? Do you think claiming benefits and being disabled is shameful?

What the actual? Mobility scooters don't look any different depending on payment methods. The days of the blue three wheeler are long gone 😮

One of my neighbours, we nicknamed mad millie ( not her real name) who is not mad at all, just a very individual person has Brian the mobility scooter (not its real name but it does have a name) She doesn't drive and uses it to go shopping. Quite a good idea if you ask me.
Its never crossed my mind how its paid for but as she is in good health I assume she's bought it herself

What’s it got to do with the neighbours? Are you saying you wouldn’t use the accommodations for your disability that you need, in case your neighbours judged you for being on benefits?

OP if you are having an operation will you get an OT assessment? I know some mobility charities will have a low/no cost hire of mobility scooters if you have an OT assessment and cannot afford one.

How would they know?
