helllp!

earlier in the year I left work via settlement and produced all docs to uc. All ok. Just received a message that my claim is being reviewed and to provide 3mo bank statements and proof of address landlord letter, rent agreement, etc. I have literally just done this 7 weeks ago… in fact the only extra thing they’re getting is 1 months bank statement!!! I’m now around 5k in capital but will flucuate to around 6k+ by the end of the month so I haven’t updated the circumstances.
I have provided all bank statements and landlord letter as requested yet again!! Has this happened to anyone else??

The reviews are something regularly done to check claims are correct but in your case it obviously seems a bit soon. I think it's just a randomised sample so just unfortunate timing. It's nothing sinister though but do provide what they need.

As PP says these checks apply to all claims.

They're not trying to catch you out just to cross check/confirm the information you gave them previously.

The primary function is to catch people doing undeclared work, cash in hand or self employment, and that capital is recorded correctly.

If you're bumping the £6k limit with all of that actually capital per the UC Regs are there any debts you could pay down to keep it under £6k? Also remember that changes in an AP apply for the whole of that AP so if you're under £6k on the last day no tariff income should be applied.
