£62.77 in Lidl 🙀

RumBananaSundae · 05/06/2026 20:12

£5.49 on a TGTG. I should really be more picky. This was a new place that I thought I’d try and ended up with a bag of croissants.

Thank you. It’s been more than a decade since I seriously looked for a job @Frugal25 it’s changed a bit. When can the kittens go out?

At least with not finding anything you didn’t spend anything @DirtyGertiefromno30.

Quiet day today working on my application. And had a few social phone calls with work friends. No one appears to be doing any work at all. Not made it to the gym. I need to go my knee is just about moving and I don’t want to regress too much.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/06/2026 08:34

Good morning everyone 🤗
Off to see Mum this morning 🤗
Weather is atrocious 🙄
Blimey@RumBananaSundae, that's a lot of croissants for one TGTG!
I think just chalk it up to experience like you say but l get your disappointment 😔.
It sounds as though your day was ok all in all though, getting on with your application and having a catch up with your work friends, good for you all letting the work do one, serves work right . I'm pleased your knee is still moving despite the set back with the gym . Hopefully you'll get to the gym soon and keep it heading in the right direction. Good luck with the application sweetheart ❤️😊

Hi, just checking in as it's been ages since I did. Need to read through and catch up.
I have been very busy as it's exam season so lots of work. Also, lots of cat sitting. I'm still on target to clear my credit card debt by 1st July. I do have DP's birthday coming up.
I hope everyone is well.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/06/2026 09:22

Good to see you @Vinorosso74, excellent job re the cc well done 👍 ✅ 👏👏👏

Morning all,

I'm the same @RumBananaSundae with being in the same job and not having to look or do interviews for a decade and I agree, it's changed beyond measure so very proud of you for being head down and cracking in. But you're doing it and being amazing. Small steps, one at a time and before you know it you'll have climbed the mountain. Xxx

Been told to keep the kittens in for 9 months but online it says until they are 5-6 months. 7 weeks to go!!

Should be a NSD, although OH has just said I should go out by myself for a bit as I don't ever get any space so I may take myself off to a garden center or a charity shop for an hour.

Have repotted the bits of plants that kittens snapped off from main plant as they are rooting. So free plants yay.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/06/2026 14:28

Blimey @Frugal25, only 7 weeks to go now! 😹 Everyone seems to say something different about when kittens can go out , we were told 6 months by our vet and they did seem fine by then .
I think your DH is right. A wander around a garden centre or a charity shop sounds lovely, and it would do you good to have an hour to yourself for a change. 😊
Well done on the cuttings too. The kittens are little devils , but at least they're helping your collection grow 🤣
Mum was very good there today ,she's having a good run ATM thank God 🙏

Todays thought of the day
"Sniffer dogs have NOTHING on three year olds" especially when it comes to sniffing out sweets hidden away in the cupboard.

I think spending was about £20 today.

And I don’t even like them @DirtyGertiefromno30. Glad your mum is having a good spell.

I hope so @Frugal25. Thank you. It is all a tad stressful. Hope you took yourself off and had a lovely time.

That did make me chuckle @DeepFriedCreamEgg.

Had a great day with my friend today. The weather threw a spanner in the works re our plans so we did a coffee shop crawl instead. I picked my World Cup fantasy team. I’m actually looking forward to the tournament starting as it might be a distraction. Think I’ll look for a wall chart tomorrow. If there is one with a newspaper.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/06/2026 19:08

Aw thank you re my Mum @RumBananaSundae 🤗. l am so enjoying this stable time with her ❤️.
It won't last but l am making the most of it 🤗. Those blinking croissants! Fancy you not even liking them too 🤒.
Nevermind we live and learn 😁.
So glad you had a lovely time with your friend today , coffee shop crawl sounds far nicer than a pub crawl 👏😋.
We always buy the Saturday Mail for their TV mag and they had a
World cup wall chart in it so we are sorted 😁. Looking forward to it too and Wimbledon soon yay! 👏😁

DeepFriedCreamEgg · 06/06/2026 20:08

A coffee shop crawl is my idea of a good time. Make sure they are independent and have an amazing range of cake and that's heaven.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 07/06/2026 12:58

Afternoon everyone 😊.
Just did a bit of grocery shopping in Cwmbran . On our way home now . Held up though , some poor person is threatening to jump off the bridge. We will have to go around the mulberry bush to get home instead. Hope they are ok 💐.
Spends £36 Asda
Petrol in Sainsbury's £50
151.9 a litre cheapest about .

Have a lovely day everyone 😊

RumBananaSundae · 07/06/2026 16:34

Afternoon all.

Spend about £25 today. I decided on a jacket potato (23p) for supper and ended up buying a few other bits (including a cheese and onion pasty have no idea what goes through my head when I’m in the supermarket what did I buy a pasty for?). Have leftover cheese. And a pasty. And some snacks for watching the World Cup. And a World Cup magazine. It was rather difficult to find. When did magazines increase so much in price? All the ones I looked at were £7.99.

Hope you’re back home now @DirtyGertiefromno30. With your feet up and a cup of tea (or a tequila).

Have drafted an email for the solicitor so need to send that. Whet through my draft application. Will make some changes tomorrow and send it on Tuesday. Found another post to apply for so will amend my CV and write a statement for that. It’s via an agency and I can’t really work the process out.

No exciting plans for the rest of today. I will take a look at my magazine and watch Australian bake off. I watched it years ago and there were some really beautiful birds.

Frugal25 · 07/06/2026 17:51

Afternoon all,

Ooohhh a coffee crawl sounds so much fun. Glad you had a lovely time @RumBananaSundae and the cheese and onion pasty, nom. If you don't know what to do with it, pop it in the post and I'll help you. Well done on your application and email. Boom, you're on fire my lovely

@DirtyGertiefromno30so glad your lovely mum is having a good run. Not good for the person on the bridge though, hope they are ok.

@DeepFriedCreamEgg seriously, children are amazing at finding things we don't want them to find. We need to find a way of profiting from this...

NSD today. We went to the fair and OH paid bless him. Bumped into most of DD friends and their parents there so that was fun.
Family popped in to see the kittens and now chilling out. Quite tired today. OH has passed out on the sofa bless him. I need to go and fold laundry. Lucky me.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 07/06/2026 19:23

Cheese and onion pasty 😋 😍 yummy @RumBananaSundae now you are talking 😁! We are looking forward to the world cup here too 😁. By my reckoning England will win their group L only to play Brazil in the last 32 and lose 🤣. Hey ho it is what it is whatevers 😁.
We came home in time for the Monaco grand Prix thankfully. Still not heard about the poor person hopefully they will be ok 🙏.
Thank you for letting us know about Aussie bake off l have recorded it 😁. Well done on the solicitors letter and the job applications keep it going sweetheart we are all behind you 👏🤞🙏❤️
Ah thank you re my Mum @Frugal25 ❤️ I am on tenterhooks every day just waiting to see a downturn in her condition. l know it's coming it's inevitable but just have to cherish every day ❤️🙏. Yes very sad about the person on the bridge. l do hope they are ok. Aw lovely going to the fair it's such a treat with the DC 😁
I bet the family love the kittens ❤️

Not feeling 100% today but don't want to fall off the thread. First period in 8 weeks (premenopausal joy) and I've a bad headache. Had to clear out at DMs this morning and DB is still squatting shows no sign of looking for a flat and was being pernickety so that didn't help. Anyway onto more cheerful news, DH did a BBQ then I've had a two hour nap! I'd suggested going for a carvery but no one else could be bothered so he did that.

Grocery wise £6.76 coop. Also ordered DD an iPad and keyboard from Amazon so that was £166. It can come from savings as she needed it for her upcoming Year 10 mocks as she's been revising on her phone.

Sorry not had chance to read the thread but wanted to post!

drspouse · 07/06/2026 20:40

I'm just here hiding behind my eyes looking at my bill from my weekend away but I had a lovely time.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 07/06/2026 22:10

Sorry you're not feeling right @Lockin26 💐 those premenopausal headaches are no fun, and the situation with your DB sounds awful 😔
That BBQ and nap sounded just what you needed sweetheart 🤗. The iPad and keyboard sound like a great investment for your DD's mocks 🤗👏.
Don't ever worry about posting and keeping up as long as you are ok that's all that matters , hope your head is better now 💐

Spend £1.62 today on milk in Sainsbury’s.

Very sorry @Frugal25 the pasty has been scoffed.

I know nothing about football @DirtyGertiefromno30. I’m hoping France win and I recognise some of the Norwegian players but that’s it. The FIFA website has a game where you predict outcomes and that is fun.

Sorry you’re not feeling good @Lockin26. Hope you’re feeling a bit better today. I’m sure having to deal with your brother isn’t helping.

Met a friend this afternoon in the pub. It was nice to see her and we managed to avoid the rain. We’re trying to think of cheap days out for the next spell of good weather. All suggestions have involved pubs and watching football.

Frugal25 · 08/06/2026 18:52

Oh poop @RumBananaSundae but I hope you enjoyed it immensely 😀
I'm not into football tbh but I will watch Beckham if he is on TV... Ahem.
Oh @Lockin26 I hope your head is better soon and your DB finds somewhere soon... Ooohhh BBQ!!!

£1.60 today on a gift bag to put gifts in for my friend who I'm seeing Thursday. The only bags I had were Christmas.
Friend took me for a tonic water at lunch but she paid and I'll pay next time

DeepFriedCreamEgg · 08/06/2026 19:46

Well I've just scoffed a bag of crunchie rocks for my tea at least it's got dairy, right?
