UC and home education

Hi everyone. I have received notification for a review on my universal credit. My question is, do I need to declare to them that my son is being home educated?

I withdrew him from his school in November due to their refusal to accommodate his sensory needs. This was in turn, starting to impact on his mental health.

Thank you in advance for your advice. 🙂

Can you work? Presumably you would need to find work to fit around your childcare commitments

Are you working op? Do you share the home ed with anyone? If you are not working and are looking for work and it is just the 2 of you how are you going to manage when you have a job? How old is your son?

No, as long as it doesn't impact your ability to be actively looking for work or engaging in work related activity (depending on which universal credit group you're in) For example, your work coach wouldn't accept EHE as a reason to not be fulfilling your 'commitment' as it's a choice you've made.
