So I googled, and apparently that's 300 mini eggs, worth the money in my eyes!

HDready · 02/02/2026 21:17

That is £1.60 per 100g whereas the small 75g bags are about £3.50 per 100g!

Bournetilly · 02/02/2026 21:18

Agreed! I wanted some to bake some cakes for a cake sale, it’s £5.30 for 256g. I need an alternative or to hope the price comes down.

MidWayThruJanuary · 02/02/2026 21:19

I was passing through Gatwick airport last spring and got 3 for 2 - £40.

zamu · 02/02/2026 21:24

It's mental

Daughtersandbristolian · 02/02/2026 21:26

Five days ago Tesco had the small bags on club card for £1, I went in there yesterday to get some they’ve been put to £1.85 on club card. There are 13 in there!

TomatoSandwiches · 02/02/2026 21:30

You can get them a bit cheaper in health food shops, they're not actual mini egg eggs but practically the same. I got some in Grape Tree not long ago.

thepurplepenguin · 02/02/2026 21:31

Coop own brand speckled eggs are lovely and much cheaper. That 1kg bag isn't bad value though...

Nofksleft2give · 02/02/2026 21:31

I saw a very small bag of Cadbury chocolate buttons today…£1.60!

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 02/02/2026 21:31

I don't think that's too bad, Mini Eggs have always been expensive per 100g. I'll certainly still be buying a kilo this Easter.

Clefable · 02/02/2026 21:32

I mean that’s 1kg, that’s a lot of mini eggs! Actually works out quite well on the per 100g price v the normal sized bags.

CoastalCalm · 02/02/2026 21:33

They’re awful now , I decided to pick up a £1 mini egg Easter egg yesterday and though it is tiny it’s been relegated back to the treat drawer with only a couple of eggs and a piece of shell tasted - overly sweet with a fatty mouthfeel

mondaytosunday · 02/02/2026 21:55

1kg of mini eggs? Whoa. I’m not so much amazed at the price as the amount of eggs (and how anyone would want that many).

Tinytimmy123 · 02/02/2026 22:00

Stop eating the Cadbury /Nestle and all the other Palm Oil infested 'chocolate'. If you're going to pay that kind of money it may as well be for proper chocolate. The Cadburys/Nestles are replacing milk for palm oil because its cheaper ..its also a horrible glacky taste and mouth feel. My friend tells me that since she swapped to proper chocolate she hasn't had 'unsettled' tummy issues.

Hotchocolate4 · 02/02/2026 22:05

Has anyone tried this years mini eggs yet?! Im convinced they taste different and changed the chocolate again

Palm oil eggs vs Chocolate mini eggs

Tabitha500 · 02/02/2026 22:30

I’m yet to try the mini eggs (used to be my favourite but the price puts me off!) buy recently bought some Cadbury Twirl bites, they didn’t taste right! And I love chocolate! An unpleasant aftertaste and nothing like I remembered how Cadbury used to taste! Really disappointed and won’t be buying Cadbury again, it’s changed too much over the years!

I've just had a bag today and they're definitely not the same! They melt so much faster than normal. Takes all the joy out of them.

CraftyNavySeal · 02/02/2026 22:54

M&S Speckled Eggs are fab, much better than mini eggs but actually more expensive per kg than this.

A normal bag of mini eggs is 70g so not sure why people are surprised a kilo costs multiple times that.

Found this thread looking for answers!! I bought some mini eggs today to make rice Krispy cakes with my dd - took a cheeky couple out of the bag to munch on and they taste awful!! I’m gutted, they used to be my favourite 😢💔

Boomer55 · 06/02/2026 16:44

I think that sone of the bucket stores, like Aldi and Lidl, have got the same thing, much cheaper. Not sure how they taste though. 🤷‍♀️

AzureRose · 06/02/2026 16:47

Oh dear. It's a 1kg bag. Did you expect it to be £1?

Zov · 06/02/2026 16:53

That is a very bad example @ohmygoodnessohmygoodnessohmy , as £16.00 for a KILO of mini eggs is very good.

Morrisons have them for £15.00.

What shocked me today was when I went into the Petrol station, and the individual Cadbury's Creme Eggs were a POUND EACH. A fecking chuffing POUND! It's barely even a bite!

AzureRose · 06/02/2026 16:58

I'm going to buy some mini eggs now.

The M&S ones are the only mini eggs I will eat.
