We've just had a smart water meter fitted so not had a months worth yet. But an average would be 8500 (1 adult, two older teens no dishwasher).

MikeRafone · 06/01/2026 17:30

I think we need to cut back as ours is more than the average...

3 people 3 bed house. Our bills say our use is a bit below average though our use is on the rise due to 2 teens & their ridiculously long showers.

XenoBitch · 06/01/2026 17:57

About 2700 litres per month. Just me here.

Jellifer · 06/01/2026 17:59

Mine works out to about 3000 litres per month, I live alone

NewYearNewMee · 06/01/2026 18:08

We use about 8,800-9,600 per month, two of us in the house.

singthing · 06/01/2026 18:15

1 person, showers not baths: 71l per day, so approx 2100 per month.

On the little graph they show me (71l) vs an "efficient neighbour" (113l) and an "average neighbour" (300l). I am not wasteful with water usage but do use as much as I need, including hosepipe watering the garden in summer (no ban here before anyone leaps on me!)

Helga55 · 06/01/2026 18:16

9500 a month for three of us

8917 ltr per month - 3 people.
104 litres per person per day

Sgtmajormummy · 07/01/2026 11:59

4 cubic meters (4000 litres) a month. 3 people and the house is empty for about a month a year.
Parsimonious eco programs for dishwasher and washing machine and we have 15-minute showers every 2/3 days. In Summer I use the water that comes out of the air conditioning unit on the pot plants!
In our case the service charge is what costs the most. If it went up to 5000 litres the difference would be negligible.

OverlyFragrant · 07/01/2026 12:04

1816l per month.
1 person, 2 dogs, and summer watering of container gardening.

forgotmyusername1 · 13/01/2026 21:22

Apparently an average of 293 litres a day so around 9000 a month

Family of 4

DrCoconut · 13/01/2026 22:06

I really have no idea. We are on rates so bills don't mention use.

MikeRafone · 14/01/2026 07:18

I’ve managed to reduce my weekly usage, this is the first week of January

5000 a month. 2 of us. We pay £36 a month on a meter.

Statsquestion1 · 14/01/2026 08:55

No idea whatsoever 😂

namechange272727 · 14/01/2026 08:58

7600 a month for 4 of us

Sunnyside4 · 14/01/2026 15:12

Does anyone know how many litres there are in m3 of water? Water authority installed meters in road nine months ago, and they've only given our reading in m3.

1000 litres in 1 cubic meter.

ah, see ive got them to reduce my payment to £31 per month based on 5000 litres a month - as thats how much it should cost. They were charging me much ,ore and the credit was sitting in their bank. Same with gas and electric - at one time it had risen to £800. So im trying to ensure I don't get into debt but these companies Arne't sat on my money...

No idea, we’re in Scotland so water is included in council tax.

ADHDMumHere · 16/01/2026 04:23

9,000 liters per month for two people, with a washing machine and dishwasher but no bath, seems reasonable.

ShetlandishMum · 16/01/2026 04:38

7500 l a month / 2 adults + 1 teenager.

SpecialG · 24/01/2026 07:23

6000 l a month, 2 adults, 2 children, no dishwasher, showers no beths. Our water privider have just said they want to out our payments up to £125 a month
