Has anyone had issues closing/ deactivating Next account

Basically just this, as part of my general credit clear down. I am planning on closing/ deactivating my next account. I have paid the balance off, as I tend to do every few yrs, before it slowly climbs up again. I previously tried to shut it a few yrs ago and they were v resistant to shutting the account. I've had it since I was 18yrs old I am now 42 and I just feel its a little bit too easy to have access to just order something on credit and I want it gone. Advice etc would be much appreciated.

I just phoned them and closed it.

I keep a Next account. Their maintenance is terrible. Always playing up.

Just phone them and tell them you want to close it. I don’t think you trying a few years ago and them managing to persuade you not to counts as ‘issues’ closing the account.

I actually emailed, and phoned them to try to close it. They said at the time they couldn't, remember I've had this credit account for nearly 25yrs and they used to craftier

I’ve closed one recently and it was really easy. I asked to close it, they offered some stuff for me to stay, I said no, they closed it.
