Best place for fruit and veg?

Sick to the back teeth of the fruit and veg we get from Aldi being minging and wasting money buying things that just get chucked out.

Last week it was mushy pears and beetroot, this week it's horrible brown lettuce and a bag of unopened peppers-date 23rd September rotten and juicy 🤢

Does anyone else find this and can recommend where to buy nice fruit and veg? We are on a budget but can't afford to buy fruit and veg just to transfer it straight to the bin! Our local fruit and veg shop is ok but not huge, and I've had mixed experiences with things bought there as well.

M&s. It also lasts longer. DD eats it all. No battles around not liking it. Its also not significantly more expensive than asda or tesco in my opinion.

I think I posted earlier about M&S - have also done a couple of Ocado shops recently and it was stupendously fresh and lasted really well ( this was Ocado branded rather than M&S) - I do get stuff off a really good local market gardener too at our weekly big indoor food market at Green park ( Bath) - what I like about his stuff is its not expensive and it’s got ‘taste’ carrots taste like I remember them , same with cauliflower etc - my son always comments on ‘strong taste’ when he comes over from London .

I think it depends on your local stores, our Aldi is usually better than Sainburys who often have fruit & veg on the shelves that isn't even fit to be sold. Morrisons is usually ok too. I rarely throw fruit or veg out because it's gone off. Do you meal plan to make sure you only buy what you need?

M&S. it’s actually not more expensive than aldi/ Lidl as they do offered 2 for £4 on things like strawberries
