Light Bulb Energy Efficiency

It has come to this. In a bid to lower escalating electricity costs (am I actually supplying electricity to the neighbouring area as the bills feel that way 😭😂) I am looking at light bulbs.

Gosh it's confusing. Have LED bulbs rated E, which apparently are A in the old system.

But, there are Phillips bulbs that are rated A. These are £11.99. Is it worth the extra cost is all I want to know.

I expect they are worth it. Though I try to buy our energy saving bulbs in Home Bargains. I forget which brand it is.

The only thing that counts is (a) watts used and (b) lumens - how much light.
