Just changed to Octopus Energy so currently examining all our usage. We are on intelligent go so started setting our dishwasher and washing machine to come on at night. We are 2 people in a bungalow and our usage seems really high on certain days and I can't fathom out what's causing it. I've attached our weekly use.

Can anyone help with this energy use.

I had something similair where my usage was higher

Only thing you can try OP is switch everything and I mean everything off and start switching individual things back on when looking at usage on your smart meter monitor as it will help you find what your highest ££ use items are in your house

As you are with Octopus sign up to their messaging to let you know when you can use free electric. Ditto for power saving - although that isn't helpful to you right now.
Also check that you are actually on the best package available to you - it will show you on your bill if you can save money with a different tariff.

Have you had a look at the individual days to see if there's a time of day your usage is spiking? We're a family of three and average at 45-50 kWh a week at this time of year which is usually 4-5 washing loads, and daily dishwasher use.

Bit late to this but looking at the picture I'd say your usage is noticeably very low on 2 or 3 days (rather than a couple of days are noticeably high- usage) -sorry! Is it correct that you used almost no electricity on Tuesday for eg?

Can you set your smart meter in -home display to 'daily' and watch your electricity consumption in real time?

On a side note, whilst it's great to have the option of using electricity when it's cheaper, have you weighed up whether there might be any fire risk with big appliances running at night when you're in bed?

?

so started setting our dishwasher and washing machine to come on at night.
I think this is probably unwise and would go against Fire Brigade advice.
