Too Good to Go

I joined the TooGoodToGo app last week and I don't know if I've just been lucky, but its been great. I've just had a HUGE bag of goodies from Greggs: 8 Sausage rolls, 4 YumYums, a cupcake with a fairy on top and 6 chocolate chip cookies, all for £2.59.

Has anyone else tried it? There are a few restaurants in my area offering bags, but I'm not sure what sort of thing you would get.

Will leave my sign-up code here, just in case anyone would like to join.

I have always found Greggs to be great, you almost always get way more than you are supposed to get . I think it is meant to be £10-12 worth, but ours is usually closer to £18-20.

Last week we got 3 baguettes, 2 bakes, 2 sausage rolls, 4 doughnuts, 2 gingerbread men and 2 yum yums.

Costa can be pretty good, M7S is hit or miss for us. I live pretty rurally so not many options near me.

My local farm shop does it, I always check if there's one available if I'm going past, fantastic value for really nice food.

I use it when on cheap city breaks - Im too rural for it to be much use - there's only Gregs and Tim Hortons signed up anywhere near me

But when Im in a city - breakfast and lunch is usually taken care off for a pittance. One time we got really lucky with the Cornish Pasty company, we didn't have time for lunch before our flight home, we got two huge pasties which we ate for lunch, two pastries which we had at the airport and I still had two steak slices which DH took to work for lunch the next day - £4

If we are in an Airbnb near a hotel , the breakfasts are great value, one bag is plenty for two , I collect take it to the Airbnb , heat it up if needed and plate up

Morrisons are also very generous with their bags

We get enormous ones from Cooplands bakery (small chain) and a couple of local independent cafes. The sushi counter in M&S does a brilliant one that sells out about 5 seconds after release every day! I was less impressed when I tried Costa - three uninspired savoury items, all already on the counter at half price, so the value wasn't much more than the cost of the bag.

Krispy Kreme is the best

Aldi can be a good box of good and Starbucks

LemonDrizzleSlices · 19/06/2025 19:32

I find the first order is brilliant (one example is I got £20 worth of cake and pastry from Starbucks at a train station for 3.99 the first time, went again today and paid the 4:99 deal and got £17 worth). I did have wonder about asking how it works and if it is a percentage of what is left or if you get a better haul the first time?

Cotswoldmama · 19/06/2025 19:37

My local Artisan Baker does one it's £5 this is what I got! The pastries are usually between £4-5 each!

I love it.
Pret is my favourite haul.

The retailer is unlikely to have any idea whether it’s your first box or not.
