Hello all I have been shortlisted for a property and I have first refusal, I am so nervous as they have asked for bank statements which shows I gamble a lot, me and partner both work so we have an income each so can afford it.

I also have paid my rent a few days late before and they want a reference from the landlord.

I pay rent every month but things like electric and water I get billed quarterly and then pay it off/what I can afford at the time.

So worried I am going to be refused the property 😭

any one had anything similar???

I have no idea but you need to do yourself a favour and stop gambling and start paying bills on time and in full. It will make your life a lot easier

Save your gambling money. It's a shit hobby...

You can't afford to gamble as much as you are if you're paying rent late/paying 'what you can afford at the time'. Do yourself a favour and pack it in. I speak from experience! Anyway, can you not just block these entries on your bank statement out? Surely they are only looking to see rent/essential bills being paid?

Ask yourself, if you had a property to rent and someone wanted to rent it but told you they pay their rent and bills late and waste money gambling, would you rent it to them?

How can you afford to gamble if you are paying your bills late?

by not getting this property will be the wake up call that I need!
