Universal Credit payments

Ive received my UC statement confirming what amount I’ll receive on Friday. It is a bit higher than I was expecting but I got a message today from UC telling me that HMRC reported my earnings later this month. Will UC change my payment I’m expecting on Friday or will this be affected next month? My assessment period is 12th April to 11th May just for reference. I could do with the extra money this month and start repayment next month too be honest. Any advice is thanked. Xo

If they pay you extra this month it will be less month

My wages get taken into account from the 5th-4th of every month or something similar. My payment is then on the 10th. If you’ve already got your statement, that’s how much you will get.

@sheknowsitstoolate is this definitely the case, as in they won’t just reduce it again before Friday? Has this happened to you before? Thanks

Yes it’s happened to me before they take it out the next month or if it’s a lot they will take some out every month to pay it back to them if that makes sense . No they won’t fix it this month

It won't get reduced because it's already been processed. You'll get what is on your statement

@Tiegs awww thank goodness! I wasn’t expecting the extra this month but could definitely do with it this month the most and happy just to repay in part going forward. I wasn’t sure if they would just make a manual adjustment and reduce it again but that’s helpful to know. Thank you ☺️

I have seen people post on a Facebook groups where their statements have been changed before pay day so I would just keep a close eye on your account as it definitely can happen.

@untilido I was waiting for someone to tell me this. This is what I’ve been thinking too.. if it’s happened before I guess it can happen again
