Mines gone up by £240 this year from last year. I know they're going up but surely not by that much????

Yes, mine is going up by £19 a month. Ridiculous and impossible for me. I am planning on ringing them as they mentioned something in their email if you are having issues with bills etc.Apparently they will look at your outgoings etc.

Ours has gone up £18 a month. United utilities. Yay let’s give them more money to pollute our waterways and pay their shareholders.

KievLoverTwo · 08/03/2025 11:31

Depends which area you are in. Mine is going up 19% but the poor folks on Thames Water have to pay for a 46% price rise this year.

My friend down south lives in a tiny two bedroom flat in a not all that affluent area and is already paying over £800 a year before the rise.

Why are we sitting back and letting this happen?! What sort of life are our children going to have. I'm going to ring them and tell them I can't afford to pay it.

Mines gone up slightly, £28pm to £31

Luckily my car insurance has actually dropped by £11pm

Exactly, I will be doing the same.
They said in their email you can call and have your financial info as in what other expenses you have, to hand lol. And it sounded like 'we can do something' but I don't see what exactly they will do 😏

Plus I am still billed so hence now saying it clearly that you will pay more.
And been trying to push a meter on me previously, with final red letter warnings, that they can enforce it.
But then details about what will happen if the property is not suitable for a meter.

Well, my first thoughts on that were, probably not, because this is a badly converted house in to two flats.
But it will be interesting what they say.

Mine dropped through the letterbox this morning. It has risen from £466.10 to £637.19. South East Water. Apparently this will help fund...
21 different enviromental projects to reduce substances from running into rivers.(caused by negligence of water company)
Reducing carbon footprint by replacing petrol and diesel vehicles with electric (not sure why hard pressed customers should foot the bill)
Still shocked at such a huge increase!

Mine (metered, living alone, Thames Water) has gone up by £19 per month.

The thing is, when you do that they add all the unpaid bills onto everyone else’s bill.

I don’t even want to pay my own extortionate bill (increased by 30%), never mind other people’s.

hattie43 · 19/03/2025 18:16

Mine just came in at £678 for 6 mths . Worlds gone mad

GCAcademic · 19/03/2025 18:18

Be reasonable. It costs a lot of money to dump sewage in the rivers.

billandtedsexcellentadventure · 19/03/2025 18:22

@GCAcademicso true!! I can’t believe we’re paying for it!!

Mine's gone up by 60%. Coincidentally SWW's CEO recently got a 58% pay rise.

Maitri108 · 21/03/2025 01:38

I'm with Thames water and I'm fucking delighted to be bailing them out. They have been polluting waterways, not investing in infrastructure and paying their shareholders millions.

Who is holding these fuckers to account?

LastTwoBraincellsFightingFor3rdPlace · 24/03/2025 12:39

My water bill is £76 a month. We’re a two adult household, though we do have a dishwasher. These prices are criminal
