£200 a week here (£150 main shop then £50 top-up) plus another £50 a week on school lunches (£3 a day x 3, one has fsm). So £250 a week all in. Edited to add Also £20 a week milk and bread from milkman I forgot to add that in so £270 a week!

6 of us but one DC needs. A special diet hence the hight cost!

We shop at ocado as they price match to Tesco and actually have really good deals and vouchers and are always reliable. Aldi etc wouldn't work for us due to aforementioned special diet although we go to Aldi every few weeks for toilet roll and cleaning stuff

mitogoshigg · 31/12/2024 18:38

Around £80 now it's just the 2 of us. More if we stock up on booze

BiddyPop · 31/12/2024 18:52

All food, toiletries, cleaning materials, alcohol. Single adult but overseas. Currently budget €150/week ( no conveniences as I don't have a microwave and that don't do M&S type meals for the oven here and food is very expensive).

whyamiawakestillitssolate · 31/12/2024 19:50

About £150 a week including cleaning products and toiletries for 2 adults, an adult sized teen and a tween. Would like to cut it down a bit this year and meal plan as I think I waste food currently.

Passthecake30 · 01/01/2025 10:57

About £180-£200 a week, for 2 adults and 2 teenagers - one that eats twice what the adults eat. I mainly cook from scratch and do look out for offers, not that you’d think it.

malificent7 · 01/01/2025 15:02

100pw approx. 2 adults, 2 kids. Mostly veggie from Aldi.
Eat chilli, curry, pasta etc.
Might go up a bit this January as on health kick.

Gorbie · 01/01/2025 15:17

Usually 150 ish a week, 2 adults, 2 under 10 and 2 cats. I don't do a top up shop really except for the odd extra bit of milk if needed, we meal plan and i batch cook where possible.

Dressinggownlife · 01/01/2025 19:12

£180 approx a week for 3 adults and late teen. Plus pet.
Main shop 130/140 and i do a little top up shop mid week.

bifurCAT · 01/01/2025 19:16

Could probably do £50 for two, but usually it's more like £80.

It's not hard if you JUST go for essentials. Ten different veg for £2 each (at most), £2 for rice, £2 for beans, 3 for £10 meat at Morrisons, mince... easy to be below 50 if you're not tempted by drinks, snacks, name brands etc.

stargirl1701 · 01/01/2025 19:20

£175 a week for 2 adults, 2 children plus 1 large dog including alcohol and household cleaning products.

frecklejuice · 01/01/2025 19:21

About £200 - £250 a week for two adults and two kids (16 & 10). It's ridiculous but I can't see where I'm going wrong and I'm a terrible cook!!

stargirl1701 · 01/01/2025 19:21

Tonight is steak pie for Ne'er Day of course. Last night was haggis, neeps and tatties for Hogmanay.

xogossipgirlxo · 01/01/2025 20:33

£70-80 two adults and toddler

Nsky62 · 01/01/2025 21:02

Roughly £70 cat and I, eat loads of fruit, no booze tho

SavvySquid · 06/01/2025 00:46

@frecklejuice Do you meal plan?
Tonight with had bread fish, mash, Brussels and brocoli.
I try my best to shop clever - but some weeks it is so difficult.
I have a Ocado £20 voucher which was £20 when you spend £60 so did manage to get £60 worth of food for £40 which really helped.

@bifurCAT I usually get the 3 for £10 in Tesco which really helps. We don't always go for brand names but on some things I have to.

How about frozen - how much frozen food do you buy?

TheGriffle · 06/01/2025 00:58

I average about £120.00 per week, 2 adults, 1 tween and 1 child and 2 cats. That includes breakfasts, pack ups for both kids and lunches for adults (wfh) and evening meals. Included all toiletries, cleaning stuff cat food etc. but we don’t drink so no alcohol. I have a Pepsi Max addiction though but only buy when the 24packs are on offer for £7 or less.m

Not too many years ago (less than 7 years) our weekly budget was £70. It’s amazing how much it’s gone up.

@SavvySquid kind of! I have shopping delivered and I do plan ahead for the week as much as I can but I use a lot of pre-prepared stuff which is where my problem is I think. I need to learn to cook!

AdoraBell · 06/01/2025 11:54

We budget £500 per month for 3 adults.

bellsbuss · 06/01/2025 12:03

I don't feel so bad now as we are averaging £250-£300 a week 3 adults, 2 children

Twinkletwinklelil · 08/01/2025 12:26

Annoyingly I spent £100 and now need to go out to top up

Bubblebuttress · 08/01/2025 12:29

160
family of 4

StMarie4me · 08/01/2025 12:32

1 adult on permanent weight loss diets and 1 adult with ADHD and food issues. Inc 2 indoor cats with all their litter, their food, cleaning products etc it's £445 a month. So about £103 per week.

StMarie4me · 08/01/2025 12:33

nepkoztarsasag · 31/12/2024 02:02

£350pw but there are 6 of us - 2 adults + 4 teeneagers

I think teeneagers should be a word! 😊

Meadowfinch · 08/01/2025 12:52

£55 per week for an adult and a 6' teen boy, which gives us a good mix of meat, fish, veggies, dairy and fruit.

I don't buy brands or alcohol, and I cook from scratch.
