iamnotalemon · 31/12/2024 01:14

$100 a week - 1 person

1AnotherOne · 31/12/2024 01:19

Anything from £50-£80 depending on what’s in the freezer. I always stick to a list. 2 adults. DP does a top up sometimes but that’s mostly things like coke for him or Snacky bits.

SavvySquid · 31/12/2024 01:24

@1AnotherOne
Do you meal plan then for 7 days?

Yes just dinners

PickledElectricity · 31/12/2024 01:27

Urgh too much. Today we spent £125 but had to buy nappies. So it would have been £105 without that.

Typically it's around the £100 mark for 2 adults and a toddler, with a few top ups in the week for fresh fruit and veg.

Saphire123 · 31/12/2024 01:27

Food shopping, for 2 of us, between £80 to £100.

Rainbow1612 · 31/12/2024 01:35

2 adults, 2 children, 2 dogs and 1 cat - we try to stick to £100 a week but it's getting tighter.

SavvySquid · 31/12/2024 01:38

@Rainbow1612 ours was a hundred pound but had to start spending more.

far too much- realistically around £250-300 a week. 3 adults and a teen plus a husky 😁

one of my New Year’s resolutions is to meal plan. Problem is we have 2 meat eaters ( the men ) me who only eats chicken and teen dd who is vegetarian. Cooking for us all is a nightmare and down to me all the time. Both of the dc are autistic and fussy as anything and go through phases of liking things and then not.

Adults all work from home and dd is currently being home schooled so we’re literally in the house for every meal and drink most of the time. Our food bill is almost twice our rent which is shocking.

AutoP1lot · 31/12/2024 01:53

£150 + £20 top up. 2 adults, 2 DC (one with an adult appetite). Includes cleaning products and basic toiletries but not pet stuff.

nepkoztarsasag · 31/12/2024 02:02

£350pw but there are 6 of us - 2 adults + 4 teeneagers

nepkoztarsasag · 31/12/2024 02:02

teenagers even

SavvySquid · 31/12/2024 02:06

@Zoflorabore

3 adults and a teen plus a husky.
That's a lot of mouths.
Meal planning is good but it gets boring.
Yeh working from home does mean all 3 meals - has your utilities gone up with peeps? Working from home?

NearlyNewHip · 31/12/2024 02:14

I average about £60 per week (including high price items like washing powder as needed) for me and my cat. I don't do any top up shops, just the one Asda delivery. Will be trying to have a low buy in January and eating out of the freezer (could do with defrosting) and cupboards (could do with a good sort).

Simonjt · 31/12/2024 02:26

£70-80 per week, two adults, two children, a cat and a dog.

Hi op, our utilities have definitely gone up! The difference is very obvious. I’m looking forward to the spring when it will start to go down a bit and the biggest culprit is the dryer to be fair but generally it’s expensive having us all home all of the time.

ForLovingAquaSheep · 31/12/2024 06:43

£60-80 2adults and a 10 year old, depending what's in the fridge.

Meal plan every evening, daughter has breakfast club and school dinners while we don't eat breakfast or lunch other than the odd bit of fruit.

Tend to do a couple of veggie meals a week.

While we're not on a tight budget we had to go to a meal plan quite a while ago. Pre work from home days we'd nip into the supermarket on the way back from work almost daily, buying processed junk to snack on along with whatever we were fancying for tea.

muddyford · 31/12/2024 06:46

Two adults, home full-time. DH frail so no meals out, not even a cup of coffee. Around £100 a week.

muddyford · 31/12/2024 06:47

That's everything except pet food.

SErunner · 31/12/2024 06:51

£100 every two weeks, top ups of £30-50 on the second week, so probably £130-150 every two weeks or £65-75 per week? 2 adults and 1 small child. Doesn't include dog food which is £69 per month. I don't meal plan but we do use everything we buy apart from the bottom of a bag of spinach or similar on occasions.

LittleRedRidingHoody · 31/12/2024 07:22

I spend about £200 per week ~ 2 adults 1 child - I'm aware this could be much cheaper but we buy lots of healthy 'convenience' stuff and eat pretty much 3 different diets (non-negotiable) so it's not changing anytime soon.

BCBird · 31/12/2024 07:26

About 80/90 a week. Just me. No booze

fivebyfivebuffy · 31/12/2024 08:10

£60 a week, just me

SavvySquid · 31/12/2024 08:18

Actually I have looked at mine and I actually haven't included dog food or dog treats.

I really need to get back into meal prepping

What's everyone having this evening ?
Picky tea ?
