Anyone found gping to mp etc sped it up. Applied July. Keep ringing last few weeks to b told it's with a manager as has been say on system since September. Expedited to a manager last week and I rung today and still waitint on the bloody manager.

I am sick of the waiting and wondering now's and I know it comes off £ for £ but pays N I contributions.

Can't claim carers element as I get pip and LCWRA for myself

Carer's Allowance can be backdated for up to 3 months and in some circumstances to when the claim was made.

It's not the issue of backdating though my issue is irs been sat with the manager now for over 2 weeks after irs been stuck since September. Is there anyone I can complain too or had a similar experience xx

Why does it matter so much? You are going to be no better off unless the carers allowance is more than your UC, and all NI credits will be backdated. I could understand your worry if it was your only income or was going to make you significantly better off but it is going to make zero difference to you financially unless I'm missing something? It will be backdated then it will mess up your UC claim and you'll have overpayments to pay back. Are you just applying for the NI credits ? Claiming carers allowance can also jeopardise your PIP claim- I have seen people questioned at tribunals on how they provide 35 hours care when claiming PIP.
