Free boiler scheme

Has anyone on here had a new boiler via the UK government free boiler scheme? I've done a questionnaire which is saying we'd likely be entitled to one. Just wondering if the whole thing is is legit, and is really that straight forward with no down sides?

Yes I have had a boiler and whole heating system put in. The work wasn't to the best standard. Floorboards left unsafe in some areas etc but considering I got 6k worth free, I sorted the mess myself. I probably could have complained though

That's interesting to know. When I look at the website you've linked I'm thinking we probably don't qualify as our boiler is not over 19 years old, but it kind of contradicts what I've read elsewhere. I read you may be eligible as long as your boiler is at least 8 years old and is not working very well.

It's a shame they bodged up yours, I guess it's just luck of the draw and depends on which area you're in and which team are allocated to the work.
