Uc back pay for care element

Can I ask how long ppl have waited too be back paid for the care element for a disabled child please ?

Do you mean where DLA is awarded so there is retrospective eligibility?

Yes my daughter was awarded dla higher rate in January so I get the disabled child element on uc too . They said it was being backed and waiting for a decission maker too verify this but it's been 3 months and no change .

3 months! Wow!! That seems excessive. I’m waiting, it’s been with the decision maker over a month. I was told in my journal its date order & a waiting game basically. I hope you get a positive decision soon.

Oh I was hoping it was quicker than that too. I'm in the same boat. I did message and they've said they've escalated it

It took almost 4 months for them to get it right for us.

I’m the same not heard anything and even ignored my complaint somebody suggested putting in, hope this doesn’t make them take even longer 😬 I just hate waiting for anything it gives me anxiety lol

I don't see how it can take so long . They say they need too collect evidence which is one letter stating she was awarded dla in January!!! I get the same answer everything I ask . No change ! So annoying 😑

Oh I just checked as it reminded me to have a other look and it seems its gone through and will be backdated

They've not said when or how much yet though so I'm still non the wiser x
