Anyone earned extra on mat leave and if so by doing what?
Looking to be able to do something from home a couple of hours.

Thanks

I’ve been clearing out all the clothes I never wear, unused cosmetics, gift sets etc and selling them on vinted. Same with baby clothes as soon as they’re outgrown.

I don’t know if that counts but it’s surprising how much it adds up.

FirstBabyCooking · 12/08/2024 09:31

I've got some stuff on vinted just doesn't seem to be moving 🫣
You're right it does add up just sometimes takes agers to sell and I can't drop the prices anymore otherwise it would be free 😂

But its literally pennies -

Prolific is meant to be better

I use to have a lady do all my ironing when she was on maternity leave and once baby was few months old she use to come and do some cleaning when her husband was home.

FirstBabyCooking · 12/08/2024 10:10

@FunLurker that sounds a good idea I do enjoy ironing and cleaning.
If you don't mind me asking how did you find her did she just put an advert out?

Make sure you have insurance etc.

Survivingnotthriving24 · 12/08/2024 10:28

I'm trying to do the same.

I've signed up to topcashback, and airtime rewards.

Selling on vinted/ebay.

I'm looking into matched betting but think that's going to be quite time consuming too and you obviously need some cash to begin with.

Bank account switching as suggested above.

I've started my Christmas shopping to spread that expense too making the most of summer sale periods and topcashback. Aldi have had some decent toy events on too for any kids you need to buy for.

FirstBabyCooking · 12/08/2024 10:50

@Survivingnotthriving24
I currently have airtime rewards and my bank rewards.
I'm on vinted just find it hard to sell. It's either all or nothing with it.
Yes Christmas shopping must start soon as my due 4th December. But cutting back this year.

Vinted i make sales every week
But i see it as get something for it

Rather than give to charity shop for free

So small ish amounts each week

I meet her on the bus, we sat next to each other. I was ill at the time and she said how hard she was finding being on maternity leave and I said I was looking for a bit of help, as and when and it went from their. Their was no agreement or insurance and she carried on helping with bits and pieces after her leave ended. I'm still in contact with her to this day. You could put a notice in shop window or fb

FirstBabyCooking · 12/08/2024 11:43

@FunLurker that's really lovely. Yes I'll have a look into it and see how much the insurance is. It's nice to have the mutual agreement helping each other x
