Confused about UC and working

I work 22.5 hours a week and separated from DD dad so doing all school runs etc from September, I'm hoping to be able to be able to work my hours around this. I've looked at UC and apparently I could claim 71 quid or something a week but would I be required to look for work up to 30 hours a week or spend the 7.5 hours after working on looking for more work? Any help greatly appreciated! I have looked online but it's not totally clear from what I've read. DD is 4 in August.

UC is concerned about earnings as a multple of the Living Wage rather than hours worked. How much are you paid for 22hrs?

My gut feeling though is that as a single parent of a 4yo you'll be seen as working enough. Do you pay for childcare?

I'm on about 19k pre tax etc for those hours. I don't really want to change job as its very good pay and conditions for PT and hard to find. No childcare costs. The calculator I did deducted 85 a week for earnings so assume the remainder 71 would be what I would get.

The AET administrative earnings threshold for you will be £892/ month if you earn that you will not need to look for more work.

Thank you! This was the bit I didn't understand.
