Does anyone know how much a single homeless person would get in benefits.

If a single person was in emergency accommodation does anyone know how much they would get paid each week?

A charity I know wants to help someone and trying to gauge what amount would be useful?

Depending on the type of emergency accommodation, this is usually paid by housing benefit from the council. The amounts depends on the postcode.

For UC, it depends on the age, children etc.

I would use the entitledto website to get a rough estimate.

Rent would be about 500 per week and covered by the council if the person is on benefits. UC would be 340- 400 per month I believe

£393.45 if they're over 25, £311.68 if not

Over 25, single person, no children, emergency accommodation paid.

Just under £400 assuming no disabilities

LaurieFairyCake · 16/06/2024 18:03

That's £400 a month - not a week OP
