Anyone want to join me in a thread about where you have got a bargain you actually needed, this isn't for impulse purchases that we never actually needed in our lives - then we tot up through the month how much we have saved on items and utilities we needed

So for example;

I needed https://www.amazon.co.uk/Proheeder-Bed-Bumper-Bumpers-Pack/dp/B083M3JLZZ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3IKWUAEV4U572&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.G0q99QGCp96lAhAy6AYtfwYBxazmkqA2AM-W6HNzpOiuhqu6TJqC8mvgLnB0FRn1UgyxWqpuOlvhLpKizidVFEM4NGBLCTyGjs3AKEstJjJsSm-mLD93bYhzyKREgcKctBSOEHeQT6f3FoGemHzRQsL4xWAyICGRQ7dBF5VKTCMTSXKg2yUAoNL0dJR2JbnuEk5WyUDWbDVZ3nb1wPGIGi7hZm2znfb1Ez_ohWqGOpqOG_1KLDklHj-tnGpAJO4sFJUdcXE9cRlu3WbiWdAoHv-3OEtVv59MqDYcjOl26y0.t0UTlMe1kC-V3JtOM4JXhSZmNmI06Fx7iTQGh7Zdxiw&dib_tag=se&keywords=bed%2Bguard%2Bfor%2Btoddler&qid=1715156934&sprefix=%2Caps%2C341&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1

and a woman on Facebook was selling them for £5

So I saved £27 yesterday on a purchase

Or another example is where you go to fake cancel your sky deal for broadband, mobile and tc and they drop the price by £44 per month - giving you a yearly saving of £528

Or you biked into town and so saved £2 petrol and £2 car parking charge

I wanted to buy a cheap dog carrier so I could occasionally take DMs dog out for walks.

As it was literally only going to be a few times a year that we'd go out in the car to the beach or bigger parks a car ride from her house, I didn't want to spend much and spent a few weeks stalking FB marketplace to see if I could get a second hand one. I sent several enquiries but never actually got a response from anyone.

I was about to give up and just buy a new one from a shop when I found one in like new condition that someone had put outside their house with a 'free, please take' sign on it. I snatched it up and nearly skipped home with my find as the ones I'd been looking at buying were about £50!

I went online in EE website and clicked on link do you want to leave , I didn’t leave but within few min I got a call and they offer me a better package I negotiated and extended this offer indefinitely !

Great find on the dog crate and with EE jyst shows how easy it is to negotiate a better price - how much are you saving monthly?

We put a pond in our garden after scrounging the liner from neighbours. I asked for pondweed on local Facebook and was kindly given some and 2 bonus water lilies (£10 - £20 a pot in garden centres) in return for cowslip plants we had spare.

We now have a vixen and 2 cubs visiting daily to drink the water which is added free daily entertainment.

So yesterday I got ground coffee and oat milk from supermarket & some posh French biscuits 🍪

had coffee at home using the espresso machine instead of at the coffee shop, so taking into account I purchased the items I reckon that was a £7 saving on having lattes at home

£34 saving
