Last day of the month position

So for most people I think pay day is tomorrow, at least it is for me and everyone I know!

But what position are you in? I’m £1.97 in the black in my current account, £8.14 in the black with OVO (next months DD will be added on Wednesday), nothing on CC. Pretty pleased with this as had a big car expensive but also a big plumber bill is incoming and if it had been invoiced today I would have been £500 odd in the red instead.

Bit disappointed with the gas/elec as I hoped to be in more credit but it’s been ridiculously cold this month so heating has still been on a bit and still some tumble dryer use.

Do you have savings as well to pay for the plumbers bill or will this come out of your pay packet? Will this affect next month?

My last day of the month is usually when the bank account looks healthiest. DH is paid on 28th and all our DDs and SOs go out on the 1st so the money is sat ready to be paid out.

After the 1st, the bank ac is at £0 until my payday. All our £ is moved to interest bearing savings and all our spending is on credit card which is paid in full on 1st with other DDs. It simplifies our finances.

That’s why I count my own ‘last day of the month’ as the day before payday…I can get a clearer picture of how my fiscal month ended. If my ‘last day of the month’ is the 30th or 31st, I’m rich! 😂

I’m skint

I’ve had some messages from my bank lately as I’ve finished the month with “only” £60 in my bank and do I want an overdraft? . I’m slightly put out by that in my world I’m winning finishing with anything !
