I think that I read somewhere that food prices are about to rise again? And that it is a good idea, if affordable , to stock up on some foods ?
note - i do not mean hoarding / panic buying etc

anyone know if this is the case- and what products at
all ?

aware Martin Lewis is recommending to bulk buy stamps.. but I mean foodstuffs.

I don't know what's best to bulk buy, but you need to think about what you will use and where you will store it.

I bought ahead pre Brexit, but only stuff which I knew we'd use. We had a huge cupboard in our garage so it all went in there. I just bought a few extras every shop for about 18 months. In the end we didn't need them for Brexit but I was very relieved we had them when Covid hit.

We're now living in a different house and I'm not going to buy ahead in case of price hikes. If I were, my priorities would be high price items like coffee.

I've stocked up on washing powders, softeners etc.. I have a 6 month supply. Shower gels, shampoos.

Food items is mainly things like tuna, condiments (sauce is through the roof) pasta and the like

Mainly because I'm now on maternity and it's helped my weekly shopping budget.

The wet spring means farmers can’t get fields seeded or planted so by late summer there will be shortages and probably price hikes in veg but I wouldn’t know which.

It’s a good thing chocolate is going up / maybe people will stop eating so much of it.
