Should I fix my energy

Hi,
We’re just coming to the end of our energy deal which was fixed for two years until 04/2024. I know our direct debit is going to go up a lot but not sure whether to go on the price cap or fix. The fix has exit fees of £150 per gas/electricity.

As your current energy deal winds down, it's an opportunity to explore your options for a new plan that suits you best keep positive, and you'll find the perfect fit for your needs.

I think I read Octopus will let people fix but then if another better offer fix comes out in July go on to that one.

Octopus also have tracker tariffs which, in theory, can go above the OFGEM cap but in practice are significantly cheaper. We're currently paying under 4p per kWh for gas compared with the capped rate of about 7p per kWh. No penalty to switch to a different tariff at any point

No, if you fix in the next couple of months you'd be fixed just higher than today's prices when the energy price cap is actually lowering from 1st April.

They'll all be coming down in the next few months, I wouldn't fix this year personally.
