House insurance increases

Just got renewal notice and house insurance has increased by over £200. We do struggle getting quotes as Dh has a little extra eBay hobby/business from home so classed as higher risk so there isn’t a massive choice to start with.
There is a cheaper quote on one of the comparison sites but I’m not comfortable with it as it’s a bit vague.
Is it just all insurances are rocketing up this year or just because of our circumstances?

Our house insurance and car insurance all went up >50% in recent renewal. The renewal quote was even worse - nearly double all round. Calling them did help bring it down a little, but it is still a very tough pill to swallow. Have you tried calling them?

Ours went up from £900 to £2300 😩 absolute shocker, down to general increases plus two thefts reported last year (bike batteries, £700 each). As we have had too many claims in prior years we couldn't shop around either so just had to suck it up. Definitely worth shopping around if you can!

He refurbishes old watches and sells them. Not full time, Just a hobby but has to declare as a business with inland revenue.

Mine went up by £200 despite no changes and no claims. Phoned them and they offered to see if they could reduce but said it would only be a small change. So I went on a comparison site and got it back down to the same as last year with a new provider.

Insurance companies punish loyal customers with higher premiums and you have to shop around.
