No gas for 12 days

Hi everyone, my gas was cut off on the 22nd December 2023 by swale heating, due to boiler being unsafe, a gas engineer was meant to come on Friday 29th December but didn’t turn up then it was rebook for Monday, I then got a call on Sunday saying the gas engineer won’t be attending as it’s bank holiday, someone was meant to come over today then I got a call saying the part hasn’t arrived. We are now 12 days without gas, no hot water, no heating or any means to cook as I have a gas hob. I am a single mum I have 2 sons whom are autistic, I have been suffering over the holiday period ordering takeaway and using the kettle to boil water to have shower. I got really angry today and complained to the manager at swale heating he then said he can offer me £80 compensation which I think is ridiculous. This won’t even cover half my electric bill. What is a reasonable amount to ask for compensation?
thank you in advance.

I would take their offer tbh. We had a boiler breakdown and no heating/hot water for 3 weeks a few years back - it was 0° most of those days and we simply had to wait until a new boiler could be installed. No compensation - they did offer plug in radiators though. Also disabled children (and adults) in household.

Take the £80 but ask for electric blankets for all beds and plug in heaters. Next week it is supposed to be frosty. Tell them your DC have additional needs.
