Looking after relatives child whilst they work?

My relative has asked me to look after their child whilst they work. They have said they will pay me £400 a month. Do I need to tell tax credits? If so how do I go about it & what do I declare it as?

Is that for full time care? Do you have the time / capacity / ability to care for the child?

Hi. Yes it will be full time. I currently don’t work so that I can be present for my children who are now in high school. I also suffer with social anxiety so for now do not work. My partner does though.

Will you be registering as self employed? Classed as a nanny or childminder? You will need to declare it to tax credits.
