Asda rewards - app sharing?

I have an Asda rewards app and have done since it launched. I was wondering does anyone share an account with their partner and is this even allowed?

I think it would be much simpler to have him log in my account on his phone so we can collect points for our christmas saver pot and have it all in one place as a family than for him to make a separate account. We both go daily but we go separately due to work schedules so we're not always shopping together for me to be able to scan the app during his purchases.
Is this something other people do? Is it legal?

I cant find anything on the terms and conditions of the app

Yes we both have the app with the same log in - its the same as our online shopping account. Technically in DHs name but I use it most. Never even considered it might not be allowed. Not been a problem so far.

Dh just sent me the barcode thing to collect points through WhatsApp and I find that in my saved media when I need to use it. We’re collecting points for Xmas when his mum cooks Christmas dinner for 10+. Should help her a bit with the costs.

Oooh that's cunning! Going to get DH to do!

Surely you'd be much better off having separate accounts as you’d both get the sign-up rewards

You'd have to spend double to get rewards on both accounts though as some missions involve spending a certain amount of money. Best to share 1 account to maximise your cashpot

Hi quick question about the app do you scan before you scan your products or after I've tried finding it but doesn't say clearly

dementedpixie · 03/06/2024 07:20

It doesn't matter when you scan it. I usually scan at the end when I remember

Littletreefrog · 03/06/2024 07:25

DH just has a screenshot of my barcode which works fine.

But some of them involve buying a certain product and then you could get the discount twice. For example a couple of weeks ago it was buy 3 meat items to get £1 cashpot. If you were buying 6 items anyway you could split it and get £2. If you only had one account you'd still just get the £1.
